Jeff Francoeur

Atlanta Braves right fielder Jeff Francoeur, a friend and former teammate of Drew's brother, Chad, at Parkview High School, contacted the brothers after visiting the Web site, wanting to get involved helping Drew any way he could.

"Most of us athletes, we take it for granted when we get to run out on the field and play everyday," the baseball player said.

Francoeur did have his own brief encounter with disability before he was called to the big leagues. "I was hit in the face with a fastball, at 95 miles per hour," he said. "For about a week, they didn't know if I could play. I had two surgeries all over my face...so just a a little experience like that, not even near Drew's, knowing that I might not be able to do what I love anymore, absolutely it puts things in perspective."

He donated $500 to the Children's Tumor Foundation on behalf of the Tumornators for every home run he hit in the 2007 season. In addition, he continues to make appearances at events that benefit the group.

"We really appreciate Jeff's generosity and support through this," Drew's brother, Ben, said. "It's a huge help having someone on board with that much recognizability."
